The new film ‘Bugonia’ is an adaptation of the 2003 South Korean sci-fi film ‘Save The Green Planet!’ and centres on a group of conspiracy theorists who kidnap a CEO they believe is plotting to destroy the Earth.

Earlier this year, Stone earned her second Oscar for her role in ‘Poor Things,’ adding to her previous win for ‘La La Land’ in 2017. In ‘Poor Things,’ Stone portrays Bella Baxter, a dead woman resurrected by a mad scientist in Victorian London. The film’s unique premise sparked discussions about its themes, with some critics labelling it as sexist and exploitative. Stone defended the film, noting, “ Some view it as a sweet romantic comedy, while others find it unsettling, and that’s perfectly fine.”

‘Bugonia’ promises to continue the fruitful collaboration between Stone and Lanthimos, a partnership that has already yielded notable cinematic achievements. With their latest project, ‘Kinds of Kindness,’ set for a UK release on June 28, audiences eagerly anticipate how the duo will bring the intriguing plot of ‘Bugonia’ to life.

Stone and Lanthimos have proven to be a dynamic duo in the film industry, consistently delivering unique and compelling narratives. Their reunion on ‘Bugonia’ is highly anticipated, especially following the success of ‘Poor Things’ and the buzz surrounding ‘Kinds of Kindness.’
