Emma Stone’s Dress BREAKS at The 2024 Oscars, Blames Wardrobe Malfunction on ‘I’m Just Ken’

Emma Stone experienced a fashion fiasco at the 2024 Oscars, attributing the wardrobe malfunction to Ryan Gosling. Upon accepting the ‘Best Actress’ award for her role in ‘Poor Things’, Stone disclosed the mishap, showcasing a broken zipper on her custom Louis Vuitton gown. 

The incident supposedly occurred during Gosling’s performance of the ‘Barbie’ ballad ‘I’m Just Ken.’ Amid cheers from the audience, Stone humorously pinpointed the moment, confessing her voice was strained, possibly from enthusiastic singing during the ballad.

Before the zipper incident, Stone made a statement on the red carpet with her striking Oscars ensemble—a strapless silk jacquard gown with an impressive architectural peplum skirt. During the E! red carpet pre-show, Stone, puzzled by the mint-coloured dress, struggled to articulate its essence to host Laverne Cox.

Stone’s stylist, Petra Flannery, paired the gown with a 30-carat yellow diamond necklace from Louis Vuitton, while hair stylist Mara Roszak drew inspiration from the dress’s “classic architecture.” In sync with Stone’s fashionable appearance, Gosling made a splash in a custom Gucci suit during his performance of ‘I’m Just Ken.’

The actor, along with his background dancers and fellow Kens, paid homage to Marilyn Monroe’s iconic scene in ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,’ from Barbie-pink gloves to bow ties and striped shirts, recreating the allure of “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.”
