HBO has confirmed that 'Euphoria' season three will begin filming in January 2025. The entire main cast, including Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney, are set to return. Francesca Orsi, HBO’s head of drama, expressed her excitement in a statement released, saying, “We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”
The announcement comes after several reports about delays to the third season. The critically acclaimed second season wrapped up in early 2022, and fans have been eagerly awaiting news on the next instalment. Show creator Sam Levinson had been working on The Idol, which contributed to the delay, along with Zendaya’s busy schedule and the writers’ strike that was ongoing at the time.

Francesca Orsi mentioned in May 2023 that these factors would likely push the premiere to 2025. The show also faced further delays after the tragic death of 'Euphoria' star Angus Cloud in August last year.
Even the lead stars seemed puzzled by the delays. In April, Zendaya remarked that the postponements were “beyond me”, while Sydney Sweeney told NME that working on 'Euphoria' feels “like home when I go back to it”, but she wasn’t sure “how soon I’m going home."
