Richard Lewis and Larry David's enduring friendship spans several decades. Born just three days apart in the same hospital in 1947, destiny played its part in forging their deep connection. However, fate intervened, and they crossed paths again 11 years later in the New York comedy scene, leading to a transformative recognition over drinks.

In the early 2000s, both comedians became dominant forces in Hollywood, with Lewis eventually joining David's acclaimed show, ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ in 2000. The HBO series featured them playing fictionalized versions of themselves, and their on-screen dynamic mirrored their real-life friendship, characterized by passionate arguments and mutual affection.

In 2021, Lewis announced a hiatus from the series and retirement from comedy to prioritise his health, later revealing his battle with Parkinson's disease in 2023. Despite these challenges, he returned for the 12th and final season of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ currently airing on HBO. Tragically, Lewis passed away at 76 after a heart attack, prompting David to express deep sadness and reflect on their lifelong bond.
