Fans React to Explosive Trailer for Mark Wahlberg’s New Film ‘Flight Risk’

The teaser for Mel Gibson’s new action movie Flight Risk’, starring Mark Wahlberg, has sparked reactions from fans. Wahlberg plays a bald hitman on a private jet in this film. The plot revolves around an FBI agent (Michelle Dockery from Downton Abbey) escorting a government witness (Topher Grace) aboard a Wahlberg-piloted plane that crashes over the Alaskan wilderness.

Many fans have commented on Wahlberg’s new look, while others have revealed their views on his part. While one fan acknowledged that his bald appearance astonished them, another pointed out that it was uncommon to see him portray a villain. There are differing views on the trailer itself. One fan wrote, “It’s crazy that the worst film of 2025 is coming out so early,” while another expressed scepticism about Wahlberg’s performance in a role that seems like the “wrong kind of stretch.”

However, other fans have been enthusiastic about the movie, with one commenting, “It’s going to be a great action film,” and another complimenting the actors for bringing something fresh to the screen. Wahlberg hinted that viewers would originally think he would save the day, only to discover fifteen minutes into the movie that it wasn’t what they had expected. Director Gibson went on to say that Wahlberg’s portrayal of a “deranged, bald-headed sociopath” in the movie demonstrates his darker side while retaining his multifaceted approach to the role.

Wahlberg most recently appeared in the spy comedy ‘The Union’, where he starred with Halle Berry. On 24th January, ‘Flight Risk’ will be released in theatres in the US and the UK.
