Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas is all set to step into another powerful and unconventional role with filmmaker Mira Nair's upcoming biographical drama 'Amri.' The actress will portray Madame Azurie, a glamorous and intriguing performer from early Indian cinema, in the film inspired by the life of legendary painter Amrita Sher-Gil. The makers recently unveiled Priyanka's first look from the film, and fans are already praising her dramatic vintage transformation and screen presence.

Interestingly, Priyanka is not just acting in the project but is also attached as an executive producer. While details about the depth of her role are still under wraps, fans are already excited to see her in a layered period-drama character once again. 

'Amri,' which is directed by Mira Nair, draws inspiration from the life and creative process of Amrita Sher-Gil, one of India's most renowned modern artists. The film, which recounts the painter's journey across Hungary, France, and India in the early 20th century, stars Anjali Sivaraman as Amrita Sher-Gil.
