FKA Twigs Shares Eyebrow Bleaching Incident: "Burned All My Forehead Skin"

In a recent interview singer-songwriter FKA Twigs revealed the surprising inspiration behind her iconic braided and beaded hairstyle at the 2014 Barclaycard Mercury Prize nominations launch.

Twigs explained that the elaborate hairstyle wasn't just a fashion statement – it was a clever solution to a beauty mishap. "At the time, I was experimenting with bleaching my eyebrows, and let's just say it didn't go well," she admitted with a laugh. "I accidentally burned off all the skin on my forehead!"

Faced with a beauty blender on a major night, Twigs and her hairstylist Soichi Inagaki turned the situation into a fashion triumph. "We came up with this idea to have beads hanging really low to cover it up," Twigs explained. "That way, I could still look good from the neck down!"

Looking back, Twigs sees the positive side of the experience. "Actually, I think some of the greatest fashion moments come from mishaps or mistakes," she said.

"Sometimes those happy accidents lead to something truly unique." This lighthearted anecdote follows Twigs' recent defence of her Calvin Klein campaign, which was banned in the UK for alleged nudity.

On a different note, Twigs is gearing up for a role in the upcoming remake of ‘The Crow’, a film originally released in 1994 and starring the late Brandon Lee. The film, based on James O'Barr's graphic novel, tells the story of Eric Draven, a man resurrected from the dead to avenge his own murder and that of his fiancée, Shelly. Twigs will be taking on the role of Shelly in this reimagining.
