Foo Fighters End Citi Concert Early Due to ‘Dangerous Weather’

The Foo Fighters had to end their performance early at New York's Citi Field due to bad weather. In a statement released through X, the band expressed their disappointment. “I am so disappointed that I will not be able to play my full set in front of the fantastic crowd at Citi Field today.”

The band emphasised that safety is their top priority, explaining, "However, the safety of the fans, the team and everyone working in the stadium is the top priority, so the performance is in a very difficult situation as it has been determined that there is no way to operate safely."

Given the dangerous weather, we had no choice but to prevent it. They reassured fans, saying: “We appreciate every moment we get to play for you and look forward to seeing you back as soon as Friday!” The audience also began by saying, “Unfortunately, today’s broadcast has ended due to continued lightning in the area.”

We hope you have a restful night before leaving the venue. According to Setlist. fm, the band played all 13 songs from their usual 20-track setlist before the show went on hiatus. They only played the intro to ‘Everlong’ before the performance was stopped.

In a fan video, Dave Grohl can be heard saying, "There's something here," referring to the hazardous weather conditions before the ‘Learn to Fly’ game. Lightning and all... and a promise to keep playing "as long as possible until someone tells us it's not safe." In another video, Grohl said, "We're going to do another one.

We'll wait until this is over." ...If we could come back, you know we would come back, right? – Before starting “Everlong”. As part of their Everything or Nothing At All tour, Foo Fighters plan to return to Citi Field for another performance soon.  The tour will also continue at Fenway Park in Boston, Hershey Park Stadium in Pennsylvania, and Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
