Glen Powell and Family Embrace Unique Christmas Celebrations – A Festive Twist!

Glen Powell and his family are spreading holiday cheer with a unique Christmas celebration! The 35-year-old actor, known for his role in ‘Anyone But You,’ shared a video on Instagram showcasing their festive spirit. Dressed in matching costumes reminiscent of Will Ferrell’s character Buddy in Elf, the family embarked on a Christmas adventure in New York City.

In the video, Powell mentioned, “We’re here in New York City for Anyone But You and my family celebrate Christmas a little differently.” The montage captures them reenacting scenes from the 2003 holiday classic, ‘Elf’. The festive moments include a visit to Santa (with Powell humorously stating Santa smells like beef and cheese and sits on a throne of lies), paying homage to the elves’ “four main food groups,” experiencing a revolving door, singing “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” in Central Park, and more.

Powell even recreated Buddy’s iconic escalator scene, doing a split to ride it up, adding a playful touch to their one-of-a-kind Christmas celebration.

Towards the end of the video, Powell and his family reenact the moment when Buddy sees the Gimbels department store, gazing up at a billboard for “Anyone But You” and exclaiming in starry-eyed unison, “Wow.” Expressing his joy, Powell wrote in the caption, “It’s nice to be born into a family who shares my affinity for elf culture,” quoting one of Buddy’s lines from the movie.

Celebrities, including Powell’s former ‘Scream Queens’ costar John Stamos, joined in the fun in the comments. Stamos jokingly offered to play Mrs Claus next year, while Aaron Paul expressed his love for Powell and his family, and Rachel Zegler humorously admitted feeling stressed.

Media recently caught up with Elf cast members Zooey Deschanel and Mary Steenburgen for the film’s 20th anniversary. Steenburgen shared that the visual of Will Ferrell in costume as Buddy was always funny, leading to laughter on set that sometimes ruined a take. Deschanel fondly recalled her favourite moment, laughing so hard she had to hide from the camera when Buddy attacked the fake Santa Claus.

Regarding Powell, he’s getting ready to launch his upcoming romantic comedy ‘Anyone But You’ alongside co-star Sydney Sweeney. In the film, they portray Bea and Ben, who, despite their shared dislike for each other, pretend to be a couple at a destination wedding in Australia.

‘Anyone But You’ hits theaters on 22nd December.
