Glen Powell Celebrates Lamorne Morris’ Emmy Win 2024

Glen Powell didn’t waste any time showing his love and support for Lamorne Morris after his big win at the 2024 Emmy Awards.
Just minutes after Morris secured his first-ever Emmy, Powell took to Instagram Stories to congratulate his friend, writing, “So unbelievably proud of my friend.” The two actors, who co-starred in the 2014 movie ‘Sex Ed’, go way back, and Powell celebrated Morris’ new achievement by sharing a black-and-white photo of the pair dressed in matching pilot jumpsuits. He also threw in a crying face emoji, applause emoji, and tagged Morris, calling him an “Emmy Winner.”
Hannah Simone, Morris’ co-star from ‘New Girl’, also chimed in with her own heartfelt tribute on Instagram Stories, writing, “Never a doubt in my mind. So proud of my former roommate and forever work brother.” Another ‘New Girl’ alum, Max Greenfield, shared Morris’ acceptance speech on his Instagram, adding a crown emoji to highlight the victory.

Morris won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his portrayal of Deputy Witt Farr in ‘Fargo’. During his emotional acceptance speech, he gave a special shoutout to his “beautiful mother,” playfully referencing her as “my biggest champion since, you know, I dropped out of her… butt, whatever, I know where babies come from.” He also thanked his 4-year-old daughter Lily, jokingly adding, “I told you I would do it, you always doubted me.”
Before wrapping up his speech, Morris acknowledged his fellow nominees, including Robert Downey Jr., humorously asking for an autograph, “I got a poster of you at my house, please sign it, seriously.”
