Glen Powell’s Parents Show Off ‘Hit Mom’ and ‘Hit Dad’ Jackets in Support of His Latest Film

Glen Powell has been celebrating the release of his latest Netflix film, ‘Hit Man’, which premiered on 24th May. Joining in on the excitement, Powell Sr. and Cyndy Powell were photographed in matching jackets inspired by the movie. They sported black jackets adorned with “Hit Dad” and “Hit Mom” in yellow print on the back, as seen in a photo posted by Powell on Instagram.

In his Instagram caption, Powell humorously dubbed the occasion “Tracksuit Safari,” sharing additional snapshots of his family sporting the coordinated outfits. Powell’s parents are no strangers to being in the spotlight, having appeared in cameo roles in several of their son’s films, most recently as airline passengers in the 2023 romantic comedy ‘Anyone But You’.

During the early promotional days of ‘Hit Man’, which Powell also co-wrote, they playfully trolled him by holding signs on the red carpet that humorously read “Stop trying to make Glen Powell happen” and “It’s never gonna happen.”

Reflecting on their enduring marriage of over 40 years, Powell shared insights from his parents about relationships during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show earlier this month. He recounted their advice, emphasizing the importance of finding a partner with a sense of humour to navigate life’s highs and lows.

Directed and co-written by Richard Linklater, Hit Man is a dark comedy that follows Powell as a part-time staffer with the New Orleans Police Department who goes undercover as a hitman to apprehend criminals. Along the way, he becomes romantically involved with a woman planning to kill her abusive husband. The film is based on the true story of former college professor Gary Johnson.
