Godzilla x Kong Roar to Life in ‘The New Empire’ First Trailer

King Kong and Godzilla are back and they’re prepared for a titanic fight. 

Sunday saw the release of the first trailer for ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’, the follow-up to 2021’s ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’. After the dramatic confrontation between Godzilla and Kong, the plot picks up in this new chapter, offering a brand-new cinematic experience.

The powerful Godzilla and the fearsome Kong must contend with an enormous, as-yet-unknown threat that lurks inside our planet. This new enemy not only calls into question their very existence but also presents a serious danger to our own.

The movie will delve into the pasts of these Titans, tracing their ancestry and solving the enigmas surrounding Skull Island and beyond. 

Godzilla vs. Kong Will Untangle Mysteries

Godzilla vs. Kong seeks to reveal the legendary conflict that shaped these extraordinary creatures and established their historical connection to humanity. The trailer opens with the earth trembling and a seismometer going crazy, followed by a voice that challenges our preconceived notions that life exists only on the planet’s surface.

A massive hand covered in yellow armour rises from the earth, giving a glimpse of King Kong moving closer to a smaller ape.

The music builds in intensity and an eerie sound reverberates, followed by a text that reads, “Experience the emergence of a new empire.”

“Kong can’t face this alone,” a voice says moments before Godzilla erupts from the water, his pink spikes glowing. A tantalizing glimpse of an epic showdown between Godzilla and Kong is shown in the trailer’s closing moments.

The Cast of ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’

Rebecca Hall’s main character, Ilene Andrews, a scientist who appeared in ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’, is back in the upcoming film. Dan Stevens, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle are the newest titans to enter the fray.

‘The New Empire’ is directed by Godzilla vs. Kong’s Adam Wingard, who returns to the role after writing the screenplay with Terry Rossio, Simon Barrett, and Jeremy Slater.

In keeping with the launch, Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell are currently starring in the spinoff series ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ on Apple TV+. 

On  12th April, ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ will open in theatres.
