‘Golden Bachelor’ Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist Recreate First Date Two Weeks into Marriage!
Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist are revisiting the early days of their relationship, now as a happily married couple! Following their televised wedding on 4th January, the pair has been giving insights into their married life.
Recently, Nist, 70, shared an Instagram post featuring her 72-year-old husband, the former ‘Golden Bachelor’ lead, at a diner in New Jersey. Recreating their initial date from the ABC series, Nist guided her new spouse to this local spot. Turner was captured savouring a classic diner meal of eggs, bacon, and pancakes in the photos shared by Nist.
The couple not only showcased their delicious meal but also took selfies inside the diner and posed in front of it. Nist’s caption emphasized the significance of diners in their relationship.
“Our story includes a diner date, so I had to take Gerry to a New Jersey diner (they’re kind of a big deal here!). Eggs, bacon, and pancakes for him, a spinach and feta cheese omelette with a fruit cup for me… so much fun meeting new and old friends!” she wrote.
As Nist shared snapshots of their diner date, Turner also posted his photos from their outing. He shared a couple of the same pictures along with some selfies of the two braving the chilly New Jersey weather outside the restaurant.
In his Instagram caption, Turner wrote, “Out of the 530 diners in New Jersey, Theresa took me to one of the best. With only 529 more to go, I’ll be busy through June of 2025.” The couple’s connection began during their on-screen date in the second episode of the season. The initial date was not only a memorable dinner but also included an unexpected show, as the diner staff surprised them with a flashmob dance to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
Their relationship blossomed on the show, leading to Turner’s proposal on the season finale on 30th November. The episode revealed their plan to have a televised wedding on ABC, a dream that Nist and Turner later expressed was a dream come true.
After their wedding on 4th January, which was presided over by the beloved ‘Golden Bachelor’ fan favourite, Susan Noles, at the La Quinta Resort and Club in La Quinta, California, the newlyweds expressed their eagerness to officially merge their families and embark on this new chapter together.
