Joey and Pacey still have that old spark!
'Dawson's Creek' icons Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes are officially reuniting for a new movie called 'Happy Hours.' Not only is Katie starring alongside Joshua, but she's also the one calling the shots as the director. During a visit to the Today show recently, Joshua opened up about the experience, explaining that Katie wrote a beautiful story designed to be told in three parts, focusing on the different stages of a couple's journey.

Reflecting on their time on the hit teen drama, Joshua compared those years to a college experience that bonded them for life. He shared that being able to work together again after all this time felt truly magical. He was especially grateful that Katie created a project that allowed them to step back into that shared space as lifelong friends.

About 'Happy Hours'
The new film captures the story of former flames who cross paths years later and find their connection reignited. Joshua mentioned that they've already finished filming the first instalment—the fun part where the characters fall in love—and he's hopeful that audiences will love it enough for them to film the next two chapters.
Joshua Jackson on Reuniting with Katie Holmes in 'Happy Hours'
Fans first got a glimpse of the reunion back in July 2025, when the pair was spotted filming on the streets of New York, looking just as comfortable together as they did as teenagers. Joshua admitted that his main motivation for joining the project was the chance to work with "Kate" again. He noted that while they've stayed close since the show ended in 2003, they hadn't shared a screen in decades. To his delight, the chemistry was still right there, making the whole process feel effortless.

Even though they have a long history, Joshua joked that there was no confusion about who was in charge on set. He quipped that Katie had no problem bossing him around and that he was completely ready for her to be his boss.
Sadly, the reunion comes at a bittersweet time for the 'Dawson's Creek' family following the recent death of their costar James Van Der Beek. Joshua took a moment to pay tribute to the man who played Dawson Leery, describing him as a truly good person who faced his illness with incredible grace. He praised James for being a dedicated father and a wonderful husband, noting that while he lived a beautiful life, the loss for his family is a massive tragedy.
