Here’s Why Camila Cabello Won’t Get Back Together With Shawn Mendes Again

When it comes to rekindling a romance with an ex, Camila Cabello isn’t ruling it out, especially if the circumstances feel right.

The 27-year-old pop star recently appeared on the latest episode of ‘Call Her Daddy,’ where she discussed her views on getting back together with former partners. Cabello admitted that her impulsive nature has led her to reach out to ex-boyfriends in the past, including briefly reuniting with Shawn Mendes in spring 2023, two years after they ended their relationship in 2021.

During the podcast, the singer confessed that she finds reconciling with exes “helpful” and described herself as impulsive when it comes to expressing her feelings. “If I feel it, I say it,” she explained, adding that she prefers to address her emotions rather than let them linger in her mind like a scene from ‘The Notebook.’

Reflecting on her reunion with Mendes, which followed their relationship from 2019 to November 2021, Cabello acknowledged that it was “a great route” and “a fun moment.” However, she also discussed why they ultimately decided to part ways again. “It’s not a fit, it doesn’t feel right,” she said, noting that they both realized it was time to move on more quickly than before.

Despite their breakup, Cabello expressed admiration for Mendes, describing him as a kind and good person. The musicians first sparked reconciliation rumours when they were seen together at Coachella in April of the previous year and were later spotted spending time together in Venice, California and New York City.

After reuniting for several months, they confirmed their separation in mid-June, with insiders sharing that Mendes needed time to focus on personal growth and happiness.
