Ice Spice Recalls Feeling “Confused” at Super Bowl Event With Celebrities

During her recent appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring’ Jimmy Fallon, Ice Spice opened up about various topics including her debut album ‘Y2K’, her encounter with Beyoncé, and her experience attending Super Bowl LVIII alongside her friend and collaborator, Taylor Swift. Host Jimmy Fallon presented a video of Ice Spice and Swift watching the game, leading to a discussion about Ice Spice's reaction, which some viewers had found perplexing.

When Fallon inquired whether Ice Spice was “confused” during the game, as internet speculation suggested, Ice Spice admitted, "I was incredibly confused. I'm still confused." Fallon followed up by asking if she had any football knowledge. Ice Spice humorously responded, “You know, that day I had a sense of knowing. But it just went away,” explaining that she was completely out of the loop about the game’s proceedings.

In addition to her talk show appearance, Ice Spice was recently featured in the September 2024 cover story, where she discussed her relationship with Taylor Swift. In the article, Swift shared her admiration for Ice Spice, noting, “I love when I meet a new artist who takes a keen interest in not just the music, but the music industry and how it works.” 

Swift praised Ice Spice for her engagement with the strategic, financial, and business aspects of her career, highlighting her proactive approach to understanding the industry. Swift continued, “I’ve seen how our industry tries to convince artists that they’re better off just being creative and making music and letting the labels and the management do the rest.” She commended 

Ice Spice for her desire to be deeply involved in her career, rather than merely being a passive participant. “She wanted to be the driver of it,” Swift added, emphasizing Ice Spice's dedication to taking control of her creative journey.

Ice Spice addressed the notion that her friendship with Swift might be perceived as seeking publicity. She responded to these rumours by saying, “Why would she not want to be my friend? Taylor f---s with me. She’s so funny. I think our personalities mesh really well.” Ice Spice’s candid remarks underscored the genuine nature of their friendship and their strong personal connection.
