Ice Spice Reveals She And Nicki Minaj Are on “Good Terms But Don’t Have The Closest Relationship”

After collaborating on the hit tracks ‘Barbie World’ and ‘Princess Diana’, Ice Spice has shared that while she and Nicki Minaj are on friendly terms, they don’t have a particularly close relationship. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Ice Spice revealed, “We don’t have the closest relationship, you know? But we’re definitely good. We’re mutual. We had smashed records together. I love us together. I think the world does too.”

Despite their positive professional interactions, recent rumours on social media suggested a falling out between the two artists. This speculation arose after a former close friend of Ice Spice leaked messages expressing her frustration with Minaj regarding their collaboration on the Barbie soundtrack.

Ice Spice commented on the situation, saying, “I think that the saddest part of the whole situation, it’s somebody I knew for so many years called my friend and had me open up and be vulnerable with them, and then took complete advantage of that for her own benefit. So that was the saddest part really, just feeling used, basically.” Regarding Minaj, Ice Spice noted that the ‘Chun Li’ rapper is “busy as hell” and might not be concerned with such issues.

“But what I said in those texts was just in a moment of frustration around contract negotiations,” Ice Spice explained. “I could have chosen different words. But at the end of the day, regardless of how I felt at that moment, [Nicki] is still somebody I respect as an artist, and I’m always going to admire everything she’s done for me and the culture.”

Ice Spice also reflected on her experience collaborating with Minaj during an appearance on ‘Today with Hoda & Jenna’. She expressed her gratitude, stating, “That was unreal. I did not ever think I would get a feature with her, let alone two. So, I’m so grateful. Shoutout to Queen.”

Ice Spice addressed fan speculation about her song “Think U the S— (Fart).” The track is rumoured to reference Latto, who recently made headlines when her friends surprised her with a poop-shaped cake at a radio station’s Birthday Bash concert. Latto posted a photo of the cake on social media with the caption: “Think I’m the s— , b**ch ?????” These insights highlight Ice Spice’s nuanced view of her professional relationships and her reflections on recent controversies within the music industry.
