‘Inside Out 2’ Trailer Confirms This Fan Theory

The latest trailer for ‘Inside Out 2’ has got fans buzzing, especially with the confirmation of the Pixar shared universe theory. Set to hit screens on 14th June, the sequel introduces some new emotions into the mix, including Anxiety, Boredom, Envy and Embarrassment, alongside the familiar faces of Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust.
Back in 2015, ‘Inside Out’ captivated audiences with its heartfelt tale of young Riley navigating life’s ups and downs after her family’s move to San Francisco. Now, with ‘Inside Out 2’ on the horizon, the anticipation is at an all-time high.

The new trailer for ‘Inside Out 2’ drops a major easter egg that solidifies the Pixar shared universe theory. For the first time, one of the films directly acknowledges that they all exist in the same universe. How? Well, pay close attention to Riley’s bedroom scene.
Hanging on her wall is a poster of the band 4*Town, a group featured in Pixar’s recent ‘Turning Red’ movie. This subtle detail firmly establishes a connection between ‘Inside Out’ and ‘Turning Red,’ confirming the shared universe theory.

While ‘Turning Red’ is set in 2002 and the first ‘Inside Out’ takes place in 2007, ‘Inside Out 2’ likely occurs a few years later. Despite the time gap, the presence of the 4*Town band poster suggests that they are still going strong, further cementing the idea of a cohesive Pixar universe.
This shared universe theory isn’t new to Pixar enthusiasts. Jon Negroni and the Super Carlin Brothers have been dissecting Pixar films for years, uncovering hidden connections and Easter eggs that link them together. From the rat resembling Remy in ‘Inside Out’ to references to ‘Up’ and ‘Monsters Inc.,’ the Pixar Theory adds depth to the storytelling across different films.

In a YouTube video, the Super Carlin Brothers explored how ‘Turning Red’ connects to the wider Pixar universe, suggesting that the witch from Brave is Boo from ‘Monsters Inc.,’ who is also linked to the character Abby in ‘Turning Red.’
