Is Austin Butler to Lead The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Reboot?

Austin Butler, known for his recent role in ‘Dune: Part Two,’ is making waves again in the world of cinema. Rumour has it that he might take the helm in the next ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie, adding another feather to his cap after his impressive performance in the Dune sequel.

According to reports from The DisInsider, Disney is eyeing Butler for a significant role in their upcoming Pirates reboot. This isn’t the first time Disney has considered him for a major project; there were talks of casting him as the lead in the live-action ‘Hercules’ reboot. However, it seems the tides have shifted towards ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ although nothing is set in stone yet.

As for the new Pirates film, it appears it could be a fresh start from the previous instalments. There’s been much speculation about the fate of Johnny Depp’s iconic character, Captain Jack Sparrow. While some fans were hopeful for his return, recent reports suggest the movie will be a complete reboot, leaving behind established characters like Captain Jack Sparrow.

Butler’s star is certainly on the rise, especially after his standout performance in ‘Dune: Part Two,’ which garnered praise worldwide. Additionally, he’s currently involved in Ari Aster’s upcoming film, ‘Eddington,’ alongside a stellar cast including Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone and Luke Grimes.
