Is Margot Robbie Planning to Take a Break From Acting?

Margot Robbie, the Aussie actress, hinted at a potential vanishing act from our screens. The reason? Well, it seems like she’s contemplating a breather because she reckons the world might be suffering from ‘Margot Robbie overload.’

The interview touched upon the triumph of ‘Barbie’ at the box office, but Robbie, a producer as well as an actor, hinted that she might pump the brakes on starring in another blockbuster too soon.

In her words, “Everyone’s like, ‘Are you having a break?’ And I’m like, ‘You do know I’m a producer, right? We don’t get a break.’ I also think everyone’s probably sick of the sight of me for now. I should probably disappear from screens for a while.”

She went on to say, “Honestly, if I did another movie too soon, people would say, ‘Her again? We just did a whole summer with her. We’re over it.’ I don’t know what I’ll do next, but I hope it’s a little while away.”

Notably, at the recent Golden Globes, ‘Barbie’ snagged the inaugural ‘Cinematic and Box Office Achievement’ award, a nod to films that manage to charm the global audience while flaunting cinematic brilliance. Despite clinching just one trophy that night, ‘Barbie’ ruled the box office in 2023, smashing records and boasting the highest earnings. It also snagged a whopping nine Golden Globe nominations.

As the spotlight momentarily dims on her acting ventures, Robbie’s focus seems to be swivelling toward her production company, LuckyChap, established back in 2014. LuckyChap has already made its mark with noteworthy productions like Emerald Fennell’s ‘Saltburn’ and the captivating ‘Promising Young Woman,’ not to forget the sassy ‘Suicide Squad’ spin-off, ‘Birds of Prey.’

So, while Robbie contemplates her next move in front of the camera, LuckyChap is poised to keep the show rolling behind the scenes.
