Is ‘The Fall Guy’ Rated PG-13? Find Out

Ryan Gosling’s latest big-screen hit, ‘The Fall Guy,’ might not be one to queue up for family movie night. The Motion Pictures Association slapped it with a PG-13 rating, citing its heavy dose of action and violence. And it’s not just the action-packed plot that raised eyebrows; there’s also a fair share of references to booze, drugs and some choice language, making it a no-go for the under-13 crowd.

Drawing inspiration from the 1981 action drama of the same name starring Lee Majors as Colt Seavers, Gosling steps into the shoes of the stunt double-turned-sleuth. In this flick, Seavers finds himself in a pickle, trying to unravel the mystery of his co-star’s disappearance.

But why the PG-13 rating? Well, when you’re paying homage to the daredevils of Hollywood, you’ve got to expect some heart-stopping action. ‘The Fall Guy’ delivers just that, with adrenaline-pumping stunts, explosive showdowns and enough gunplay to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Gosling’s Seavers teases us with a snippet of what’s in store: “We got drugs, bad guys and murder.” And if that’s not enough to pique your interest, there’s a jaw-dropping scene of Seavers hanging off a helicopter and plenty of death-defying plunges from great heights. Fun fact: the stunt involving a Jeep flipping over eight and a half times bagged itself a world record.

But it’s not all about the action. ‘The Fall Guy’ also shines a light on the behind-the-scenes magic of movie-making. Director David Leitch, himself a former stuntman, gives us a peek into the world of props and carefully choreographed sequences, reminding us that what we see on screen isn’t always what it seems.

Of course, there’s more to the movie than just action and thrills. There’s a scene where Seavers stumbles into a nightclub and unwittingly downs a spiked Shirley Temple, leading to some trippy hallucinations involving a unicorn. And while the dialogue might get a bit spicy at times, it’s mostly clean, making it easier on the ears.
