Jacob Elordi Emerges as Hollywood’s Top Rising Star to Watch

With a substantial 12.5 million Instagram followers, Jacob Elordi is a rising Gen Z icon who is sure to gain more recognition thanks to his compelling performance in the psychological thriller ‘Saltburn.’ Elordi plays Felix Catton, an affluent Oxford student with aristocratic roots and a captivating charm, in the Emerald Fennell-directed movie. The 26-year-old actor, who was raised in Brisbane, Australia, masterfully conveys the haughty drawl that comes with being a privileged character like Felix.

Felix’s natural sense of entitlement is highlighted by Elordi’s physical presence, which is remarkable given his height of 6 feet 5 inches, resulting in a complex portrayal that goes beyond first impressions.

Elordi, who gained recognition for his part in the hit teen drama ‘Euphoria,’ plays Felix with technical skill and nuance. Felix’s flawed likeability plays a pivotal role in the compelling story of ‘Saltburn.’ The movie examines how Felix’s friendship with scholarship student Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan), who is mesmerized by Felix’s lavish lifestyle, took a toxic turn. As the narrative progresses, Fennell’s distinctively bold and dark storytelling emerges, evoking memories of her critically acclaimed performance in the revenge thriller ‘Promising Young Woman,’ which won an Oscar.

A significant addition to Elordi’s filmography, ‘Saltburn’ gives his career a thrilling new direction. Previous noteworthy roles include those in the psychological thriller ‘Deep Water’ with Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas, and the unconventional Australian comedy Swinging Safari with Guy Pearce and Kylie Minogue. As the romantic interest in ‘The Kissing Booth’, a well-liked Netflix romantic comedy that was based on Beth Reekles’ young adult novel, and its later sequels, Elordi became well-known. Even though these movies weren’t particularly cool, people connected with them.

Although Elordi’s potential as a conventional leading man was demonstrated in ‘The Kissing Booth’, his performance in ‘Euphoria’ is what demonstrates his dramatic range. In the controversial and cutting-edge series, he has played Nate Jacobs since 2019. Nate is a high school quarterback who struggles with anger management and has a controlling father.

Even though Nate puts on an extremely confident front, he is tormented by insecurities and feels conflicted inside. Nate, with his cunning, ego, and ability to manipulate, represents a modern antagonist, taking on the problems associated with toxic masculinity in today’s world.
