James Corden Says 'No One Believes That I Wasn't Fired' From 'Late Late Show'

James Corden has opened up about the persistent misconception that he was fired from his late-night show in the US after its conclusion last year.

Hosting 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' on CBS for eight successful seasons. Corden decided to end the show to prioritise spending more time with his family in the UK. Despite this being his choice, the entertainer revealed that many people find it hard to believe that he wasn't let go.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Corden shared his experience of returning to the UK from Los Angeles, stating that people often question why he came back. He explained that he would clarify his reasons, such as wanting his son Max to have a closer relationship with his grandparents, but some individuals still insist that he must have been fired.

Corden humorously recounted conversations in pubs where people would jokingly suggest that he should just admit to being fired rather than giving explanations about his family's reasons for leaving. 

He acknowledged that leaving a successful show like 'The Late Late Show' might seem unlikely to many, given its comfortable and esteemed position in the entertainment industry. During the talk show, Kimmel jokingly suggested that Corden should get a letter from CBS confirming that he left the show voluntarily, not due to termination. Corden, a 12-time Emmy winner, shares three children with his wife, Julia: Max, Carey, and Charlotte.

Following his exit from 'The Late Late Show,' Corden embarked on new ventures, including hosting a podcast called 'This Life of Mine' on SiriusXM. The podcast features insightful conversations with notable personalities like Kim Kardashian, Martin Scorsese, and David Beckham, exploring the experiences and influences that have shaped their lives.

Additionally, Corden is set to return to the London theatre scene in the political drama 'The Constituent at the Old Vic,' alongside actress Anna Maxwell Martin, demonstrating his versatility across various entertainment mediums.
