James Gunn Reveals New ‘Superman’ Set Image

One of Hollywood’s most open executives and creatives, James Gunn, has once again thrilled fans with a new update on his eagerly awaited project. On his personal Threads account, the DC Studios co-CEO unveiled another set photo from ‘Superman,’ which seems to showcase the Kent Family Farm.

The image, marked only with a film emoji, sparked numerous comments about the iconic location, and Gunn hasn’t denied these speculations, a contrast to his usual candid style. This photo adds to the growing collection of set images released since filming started earlier this year, each one heightening the excitement for DC enthusiasts eager for the return of the ‘Man of Steel.’

Since the announcement nearly a year ago in June 2023 that David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan would portray Clark Kent and Lois Lane, casting for Superman (initially titled Superman: Legacy) has been ongoing.

Just recently, Mikaela Hoover and Christopher MacDonald joined the cast as Daily Planet employees Cat Grant and Ron Troupe, respectively. Before this, it was confirmed that Saturday Night Live’s Beck Bennett would also join the Daily Planet Newsroom in Gunn’s ‘Superman’ vision. Gunn’s social media following has grown significantly due to his habit of sharing filming updates, addressing rumours, and engaging with fans’ questions about the DC universe.

Beyond ‘Superman’, the former Marvel director and now DC Studios executive has been sharing updates on other projects as well. He announced that Frank Grillo, who was confirmed to voice Rick Flag Sr. in the animated series ‘Creature Commandos’, will also play the character in live-action for ‘Peacemaker Season 2’.

Additionally, he marked the beginning of Peacemaker’s second season filming by posting a photo of the back of John Cena’s head. The first season of ‘Peacemaker’ received near-perfect reviews, boasting a 94% approval rating from critics and an 89% score from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
