Depp recently starred in a French movie called ‘Jeanne Du Barry,’ which enjoyed considerable success overseas and is finally making its way to theatres in the USA. While fans eagerly await the chance to see their favourite star on the big screen again, there’s a catch – only 500 theatres across the USA will be showing ‘Jeanne Du Barry.’

Reports suggest that a few more theatres may screen the film in the US, depending on its success. However, the limited release could pose a challenge to Depp’s reputation and ‘Jeanne Du Barry’ may not serve as the strong comeback he hopes for.

Following his courtroom battle with ex-wife Amber Heard, Depp lost out on some major projects, including the iconic ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise and the ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ series. However, his role in 2023’s ‘Jeanne Du Barry’ has helped him regain a foothold in the film industry.

In ‘Jeanne Du Barry,’ a historical drama, Depp portrays the role of King Louis XV, while the director of the movie plays Madame Du Barry, the king’s favourite lover. Despite being entirely in French, Depp’s impressive efforts ensure that his French dialogue flows as smoothly as his native language.

‘Jeanne Du Barry’ is scheduled for release in US theatres on 2nd May 2024.
