Republic Pictures has unveiled the official trailer for ‘The Silent Hour’, a gripping crime thriller directed by Brad Anderson, known for his work on ‘The Machinist’ and ‘The Call’. The film centres on Boston Detective Frank Shaw, portrayed by Joel Kinnaman, who, after suffering permanent hearing loss, returns to duty in an interpreter role. 

His mission is to safeguard Ava, a deaf woman played by Sandra Mae Frank, who has witnessed a vicious gang murder. The film’s synopsis reveals, “Boston Detective Frank Shaw returns to duty after a career-altering injury leaves him with permanent hearing loss.

Tasked with interpreting for Ava Fremont, a deaf witness to a brutal gang murder, they find themselves trapped in a soon-to-be-condemned apartment building when the killers come back to finish the job.” It continues, “Cut off from the outside world, these two strangers must rely on each other to outwit the killers they can’t hear coming for their only hope of escaping alive.”

Mekhi Phifer stars as the antagonist, while Mark Strong plays Shaw’s partner. The film is produced by AGC Studios and Meridian Pictures, with Brad Anderson at the helm.

Joel Kinnaman, noted for his roles in ‘Easy Money’, ‘Johan Falk’, and Hollywood hits like ‘RoboCop’ and ‘The Killing’, takes on his latest action thriller in ‘The Silent Hour’. This follows his appearances in ‘Sympathy for the ‘Devil and ‘Silent Night,’ with his next project being the thriller ‘Ice Fall’, alongside Cara Jade Myers.
