Joey King Uglies

Joey King is set to star in the upcoming dystopian film ‘Uglies,’ where she takes on the role of Tally, a young girl on the brink of a life-altering transformation. The film, directed by McG, is based on the 2005 young adult novel by Scott Westerfeld, a story that delves deep into societal expectations of beauty.

In ‘Uglies,’ society mandates that every individual undergoes surgery at the age of sixteen to conform to a uniform standard of beauty. Tally, played by King, eagerly anticipates this transformation, hoping it will grant her acceptance and a chance to mingle with others in her society. However, when her close friend runs away to escape this fate, Tally embarks on a journey to find her, leading her to question the very ideals she once held dear.
