John Cena Shares Why He Keeps Relationship With Wife Shay Shariatzadeh Private

The 46-year-old actor and wrestler Dax Shepard opened up on the 8th April edition of his ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast, saying that he and Shariatzadeh prefer to live a low-key lifestyle for her “safety and well-being.”
In October 2020, Cena got married to Shariatzadeh, an engineer of Iranian descent whom he had met in 2019. “One of the promises I made to her on the altar was, ‘I will never put you or I’ll do my best to not put you in an undue harm’s way,'” he said, emphasizing his dedication to her safety.
In light of their relationship, Cena emphasized the value of setting boundaries and acknowledged the possible risks involved with being publicly visible. He underlined how important it is for him and his wife to feel secure as they go through life together.
The romance between John Cena and Shariatzadeh took off approximately a year after Cena called it quits on Nikki Bella in 2018. Recounting their initial meeting, Cena stated that it happened in a Vancouver bar in February 2019 while he was watching Super Bowl LIII.
They got engaged sometime after Valentine’s Day 2020, right after Cena wrapped up filming ‘The Suicide Squad.’ Cena’s professed desire to pop the question much sooner was evident in his sincere devotion to Shariatzadeh.
