In DC comics lore, Harley is Joker’s long-standing accomplice and romantic interest, originating from her role as his psychiatrist at Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum. Margot Robbie previously portrayed Harley in various DC Extended Universe films, including ‘Suicide Squad’ (2016) and ‘The Suicide Squad’ (2021), as well as in her spinoff, ‘Birds of Prey’ (2020).

Discussing the character’s future, Robbie expressed her excitement for different actresses to take on the role, highlighting the character’s versatility. “Harley’s so fun and can go in so many different directions,” she said. “You put her in someone else’s hands, and it’s like, ‘What are they going to do with her?’ The options are endless.”
