Jon Bon Jovi’s musical journey has been marked by unexpected challenges. The Grammy-winning rockstar faced a significant setback when he underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022. However, amidst this difficult time, he found solace in the thought of creating music. Turning his pain into inspiration, Bon Jovi channelled his experiences into the creation of a new studio album.

Speaking backstage at American Idol before his live performance of his latest single ‘Legendary,’ Bon Jovi opened up to Entertainment Weekly about the highs and lows of his career. From the soaring success of their debut hit ‘Runaway’ to navigating personal and professional challenges, including guitarist Richie Sambora’s departure in 2013 and Bon Jovi’s vocal struggles, the journey has been eventful.

Following his vocal cord surgery, during a period of recovery compounded by the global COVID-19 pandemic, Bon Jovi found himself reflecting on life and the power of music. This introspection culminated in the creation of new songs that reflect his journey and experiences.

After overcoming his health crisis, Bon Jovi, alongside bandmates David Bryan, Tico Torres, Everett Bradley, John Shanks, Hugh McDonald, and Phil X, released the album ‘Forever.’ Comprising 12 tracks, the album encapsulates the trials and triumphs of Bon Jovi’s life.

Reflecting on the album’s creation, Bon Jovi noted the seamless flow of creativity during recording, describing a collaborative process that yielded a cohesive body of work within seven weeks.
