Jonathan Majors fought back tears as he accepted the ‘Perseverance Award’ in Los Angeles this week, candidly admitting his imperfections.
In April, the actor was sentenced to a year of domestic violence counselling after being found guilty of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The two-week trial concluded with Majors being ordered to complete a 52-week in-person program in Los Angeles. Despite these allegations, Majors has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

The 34-year-old actor managed to avoid prison time, which could have seen him incarcerated for a year.
This week, Hollywood Unlocked, an entertainment media organisation honoured Majors with the ‘Perseverance Award.' In his acceptance speech, Majors shared some reflective thoughts, acknowledging his flaws. “I’m imperfect. I have shortcomings — I acknowledge them,” he said, tearfully.
“Perseverance means persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay. And the God I serve has put me in a position where I’ve had to embody that word more than I wished or wanted,” he continued.

“We live in a world where men, Black men in particular, are propped up as either superheroes or supervillains,” Majors added. “But I’ve come to realise, me, personally, I’m none of that. I’m just a guy whose faith has been tested. It has been strengthened by this testimony.”
Majors expressed his gratitude to those who supported him during his legal challenges, including his mother, girlfriend, sisters, and daughter, as well as high-profile friends like Will Smith, Tyler Perry, and David Oyelowo.
