Joseph Quinn Says ‘Stranger Things’ Helped Him Prepare For ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’

Quinn spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about the challenges of acting with minimal dialogue, highlighting the importance of non-verbal communication. “It was about listening to what Lupita or my scene partner was doing in front of me, and we all built it together, slowly but surely,” the ‘Gladiator II’ actor explained. Reflecting on his ‘Stranger Things’ days, he humorously noted how learning to “run from invisible things” on the show came in handy for this film.

For Nyong’o, acting without words was a liberating experience. She found it exciting to delve into her character in such an instinctive way. However, her character’s love for cats presented a personal challenge. Nyong’o had to undergo cat therapy to overcome her intense fear of felines. “The therapy involved exposure to cats and having someone patiently explain their behaviour to me,” she told the Hollywood Reporter.

Despite initial difficulties, Nyong’o grew more comfortable and even became fond of cats. “By the end of it, I was madly in love with the cats and got myself one,” she revealed.
