Josh Brolin Drops Hint About Returning as ‘Deadpool’ Villain

Actor Josh Brolin, aged 56, dropped a tantalizing hint about the possibility of reprising his role as a villain in the upcoming ‘Deadpool’ sequel during an interview while promoting his latest film, ‘Dune: Part Two’.

When questioned about his involvement in the third Deadpool film, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, Brolin playfully responded with, “No. I don’t know. Because Ryan [Reynolds] doesn’t like me? I don’t know.” After a brief pause, he intriguingly added, “Maybe.” As of now, his status in the project remains uncertain.

In ‘Deadpool 2’, Brolin portrayed the character Cable, with Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson assembling a group of mutant rogues to protect a young boy with mutant powers from the time-travelling cyborg.

The upcoming movie will see the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, alongside Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Morena Baccarin, and Brianna Hildebran. While Reynolds confirmed Taylor Swift’s absence, he announced Emma Corrin’s addition to the Marvel franchise on Valentine’s Day.

In July 2023, it was revealed that Jennifer Garner would reprise her role as the assassin Elektra in the film, a character she last portrayed in a standalone 2005 film. The plot details remain largely unknown, but it follows Wolverine’s recovery from injuries as he crosses paths with the irreverent Deadpool. Together, they team up to confront a common enemy.

Jackman remained tight-lipped about the movie’s plot in a 2022 interview, expressing anticipation for an enjoyable filming experience. The first trailer for the film premiered during the 2024 Super Bowl, building anticipation for the release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ on 26th July.
