Justin Timberlake Opens Show With ‘Selfish’ and ‘No Angels’ Mashup at iHeartRadio Awards 2024

Justin Timberlake kicked off the iHeartRadio Awards with a high-energy performance, taking fans on a journey through his latest album. The performance itself unfolded in two distinct parts, mirroring the album’s thematic range. It began with an intimate setting, featuring Timberlake delivering an acoustic rendition.

“I was able, on some of the songs, to look back at the past and have a real, not a refracted perspective of what it was because they always say … you always hear that thing about, well, there’s never any truth, there’s just everybody’s perspective of what happened. But to really look at it and be able to metabolise and verbalise my perspective on it, I don’t think I’ve ever really done that before,” explained Timberlake.

Clad in a sleek black suit, pearl necklace, and sneakers, Timberlake exuded cool confidence. The performance began with an intimate acoustic rendition of ‘Selfish’ from his new album, ‘Everything I Thought It Was’. The desert-themed set, complete with cacti and a gas station backdrop, perfectly complemented the introspective nature of the song.

The energy shifted as Timberlake transitioned to ‘No Angels’, moving to the centre stage and joining his band for a dynamic dance routine. The backdrop transformed into an auto shop setting, reflecting the song’s vibe.

The performance served as a prelude to Timberlake’s upcoming ‘Forget Tomorrow World Tour;’, kicking off in Vancouver, Canada.
