Kanye West Previews Nicki Minaj-Assisted Song ‘New Body’ at Listening Party

The much-anticipated Kanye West track ‘New Body’ seems to be on the horizon. The song, featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign, was given a sneak peek by Ye at a ‘Vultures’ listening party in Miami.

Initially earmarked for release in 2018 on West’s shelved album Yandhi, ‘New Body’ features a verse from Minaj and an infectious hook from Ty, celebrating women opting for enhancements and plastic surgery. Dolla $ign croons on the hook, “Can’t wait to see your new body/ Don’t be actin’ like you don’t know nobody/ No body count on your new body/ I’ll be the first one to hit your new body, oh, whoa.”

Minaj’s unchanged verse, though leaked and unofficially circulating for years, retains its punchy essence. “Ayo, you ain’t f— me, you f—ed the old body/ You ain’t f— Nicki, you f—ed Nicole body/ Ain’t no miles on this here new body/ Off with they heads these bi—es is nobodies,” she raps.

Following the recent release of her fifth album, ‘Pink Friday 2,’ which is poised for the top spot on the Billboard 200, Minaj and West are set to reunite in ‘New Body,’ marking their first collaboration since the monumental 2010 record ‘Monster.’ Their previous joint venture was on Minaj’s 2012 ‘Pink Friday’ track ‘Blazin.’

‘Vultures,’ dropping on 15th December heralds the inaugural collaboration between Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign. The album cover, revealed on Ty’s Instagram, depicts a bird perched on a shovel atop a coffin in a grassy field, capturing a mysterious vibe. The duo teased the album during Art Basel and delivered a memorable performance at Miami’s LIV Nightclub.

The album’s tracklist, unveiled by the dynamic duo, features previously released tracks like ‘Vultures’ with Bump J and Lil Durk, along with the much-awaited ‘New Body’ featuring Nicki Minaj. Originally slated for ‘Yandhi’ in 2018, ‘New Body’ was left on the cutting room floor when West shifted his focus to the 2019 release, ‘Jesus Is King.’ The album also boasts ‘Everybody,’ which samples the Backstreet Boys’ 1997 hit, ‘Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).’

The listening party provided a glimpse into the album, showcasing an array of features, including Future, Playboi Carti, Freddie Gibbs, Lil Baby and a surprise appearance by North West, rapping alongside her father. The star-studded event drew in celebrities like Offset, Lil Durk and Freddie Gibbs, all witnessing Ye and Ty perform tracks from the highly-anticipated project.

‘Vultures’ marks Kanye West’s first album since the Grammy-winning ‘Donda’ in 2021. Known for their musical chemistry, Ye and Ty’s collaborations span several tracks, from ‘Ego Death’ (2020) and ‘Everything We Need’ (2019) to ‘Real Friends’ (2016) and ‘Only One’ (2014).
