Kate Middleton made a rare public appearance at Wimbledon amidst her ongoing cancer treatment. The Princess of Wales, 42, attended the men's singles final on 14th July with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, 9, and her sister, Pippa Middleton, 40. This was only her second public appearance this year as she focused on her recovery. As the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, a role she took on in 2016, Kate presented the trophies to the finalists after Alcaraz defeated Djokovic.
Kate received a warm welcome, with applause and a standing ovation, as she entered the Royal Box. She was visibly moved as she took her seat alongside Charlotte and Pippa. Tennis legend John McEnroe praised her presence at the finals, acknowledging her recent health struggles.

Before the match, Kate and Charlotte met with former female champions and participants of the "Work at Wimbledon" program. Kate expressed her delight at being back at Wimbledon in a post on X, formerly Twitter, sharing photos, including one of Charlotte with a tennis racket.
Following the match, Kate congratulated Alcaraz and thanked the Wimbledon staff. A behind-the-scenes video showcased Kate and Charlotte's time at the finals. Other notable attendees included Tom Cruise, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andre Agassi, and London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

Kensington Palace confirmed Kate's attendance. Although she was expected at the women's singles final, she did not attend. Prince William, her husband, was absent as he attended a soccer match in Germany in his role as president of the Football Association.
Kate has largely stayed out of the public eye due to her cancer treatment, making her appearance at Wimbledon a significant moment. She had previously joined the royal family at Trooping the Colour, her first public event since announcing her diagnosis. Despite missing several key royal events, her presence at Wimbledon highlighted her ongoing commitment and resilience.
