Katy Perry ‘Ran Into’ King Charles and Queen Camilla in Windsor Castle

On the latest airing of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Katy Perry shared her delightful experience of being granted accommodations at Windsor Castle by the royal family for attending the crowning ceremony and participating in the Coronation Concert.

Perry expressed her joy in bringing her mother along for the occasion, deeming it the ultimate gift for her. Recalling the post-ceremony rush, Perry recounted how she and her entourage hurried through the palace corridors to rendezvous with the King and Queen for an American Idol segment. Despite specific routes being assigned, the ‘Teenage Dream’ singer humorously confessed to inadvertently running into the royal couple, quipping, “Oh, went the wrong way!”

Acknowledging Lionel Richie, her fellow American Idol judge, for orchestrating the bit, Perry praised Richie’s persuasive skills, noting his ability to sway anyone to partake in various activities.

Host Jimmy Kimmel seized the opportunity to discuss a viral video capturing Perry’s apparent confusion during the coronation. Dressed in an all-lavender ensemble, Perry clarified the seating arrangement at the Westminster Abbey coronation, revealing that apart from the first two rows, seating was open to the 2,200 attendees.

Jokingly referring to Perry’s statement fascinator that partially obscured her face, Kimmel quizzed her about the reactions of those seated behind her. Perry amusingly shook her head to indicate their probable discontent.

At the Coronation Concert held at Windsor Castle the following day, Perry mesmerised the audience with performances of her iconic hits ‘Roar’ and ‘Firework’, adorned in a custom Vivienne Westwood ball gown. The picturesque event, broadcast live from Windsor’s majestic grounds, featured a stunning castle backdrop, where even Princess Charlotte was spotted enthusiastically singing along to Perry’s captivating melodies.
