Ballerini, donning a stunning gold nightgown paired with white boots layered over a chic black and white plaid shirt, began the performance with a soulful rendition of her powerful ballad ‘Mountain with a View’. As the spotlight shifted, Noah Kahan, clad in a long-sleeved brown shirt and khaki pants, joined Ballerini on stage to perform his folk-rock hit ‘Stick Season’. The duo’s harmonious voices intertwined seamlessly, creating a captivating atmosphere filled with emotion and musical brilliance. As the chorus of ‘Stick Season’ resonated through the venue, Ballerini effortlessly recited the lyrics alongside Kahan, adding depth and richness to the performance.

Kahan’s appearance at the ACM Awards follows his recent Grammy nominations and chart-topping singles, including ‘Stick Season’ and ‘Hurt Somebody’. His collaborations with acclaimed artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Zach Bryan, and Kacey Musgraves have further solidified his position as a rising star in the music industry. During live performances, Kahan has also teased unreleased songs, hinting at exciting new material on the horizon.

Reflecting on his musical journey, Kahan shared his creative process and aspirations for the future. “I just want to wait and feel very excited about whatever’s next in terms of an album because, before Stick Season, I felt like I was just putting music out just to put it out,” he revealed at the 2023 TIME100 Gala. “When I made Stick Season, I had such a strong focus, and I want to make sure I find that again.”

Ballerini, on the other hand, recently made waves as she hosted the CMT Awards solo for the first time in Austin. Her dynamic performance included nine outfit changes, showcasing her versatility and style evolution over a decade in the music industry. To mark this milestone, Ballerini delivered a reimagined version of her hit single ‘Love Me Like You Mean It’, captivating audiences with her stage presence and vocal prowess.
