Kendrick Lamar Gives a Speech at Compton College Graduation

Grammy-winning artist Kendrick Lamar, made an unexpected appearance at the Compton College graduation ceremony in Compton, California, to address the 2024 graduating class. Lamar’s visit was a gesture of appreciation and pride towards the city of Compton, the college itself, and most importantly, the graduates embarking on their journey into the world. 

In his speech, Lamar acknowledged the hardships faced by the graduates, both within their households, communities, and personal struggles, emphasising the resilience needed to overcome such challenges.
