Kesha Celebrates 15 Years of  ‘TiK ToK’ by Brushing Her Teeth With Jack Daniel’s

The pop star recently marked the 15-year milestone of her iconic debut single ‘TiK ToK’ with a creative nod to the song’s lyrics. In a playful TikTok video, she showcased her unique celebration by brushing her teeth with Jack Daniel’s whiskey, a clear reference to the track’s memorable lyric: ‘Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack’.

The video opens with the pop star entering the bathroom holding a Spotify plaque celebrating 1 billion streams of her hit single ‘Timber’. She humorously realizes she has the wrong plaque and switches to the one honouring ‘TiK ToK’, which also hit the 1 billion streams mark. Pouring Jack Daniel’s into the plaque’s silver saucer, she dips her toothbrush into the whiskey, mirroring the song’s famous line.

Following this fun tribute, the artist shared an emotional message reflecting on the success of ‘TiK ToK’, which dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks and has sold over eight million copies in the U.S. 

Since its release as the lead single from her debut album ‘Animal’, the song has held a special place in her heart. She reminisced about the song’s creation, expressing pride in how it continues to evoke the joy and carefree spirit she intended.

In her message, the artist also discussed a recent update to the song’s lyrics, noting that she now performs a revised opening line at concerts following allegations against Sean Diddy Combs. The new line, ‘Wake up in the morning’, like, ‘F— P. Diddy’, was introduced during a performance with Reneé Rapp and will remain a permanent change.

She concluded her message with a heartfelt reflection on the journey with ‘TiK ToK’, emphasizing the song’s role in preserving her playful and joyful spirit. The artist expressed hope that fans continue to find joy and a sense of wild, child-like freedom through the track.
