Amazon MGM Studios is stepping further into toy-inspired storytelling with a live-action 'Bratz' movie on the horizon, complete with Kim Kardashian reportedly taking on the role of the film’s fashionable villain.
The upcoming adaptation follows the massive success of 'Barbie', sparking a surge in toy-inspired projects across Hollywood.
After a fierce bidding war for the rights, Amazon MGM is moving forward with development, although an official deal is still being finalised. Kardashian, known globally for her influence in pop culture, is also expected to bring star power to the movie following her roles in 'American Horror Story: Delicate' and 'Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie'.

Who Is Onboard 'Bratz'?
The studio has tapped rising talents Charlie Polinger and Lucy McKendrick to team up on the script, bringing fresh energy and perspective to the screenplay. Polinger, acclaimed for his Cannes standout 'The Plague', is known for his psychological storytelling, while McKendrick is currently working on 'Fangs', a thriller starring Joel Edgerton and Toni Collette. The duo’s involvement hints that 'Bratz' may take a more unique and stylish narrative direction.
This move continues Amazon MGM’s strategic expansion into franchise-building through toy adaptations. Following Mattel’s billion-dollar 'Barbie' success, studios are eager to replicate its formula. Meanwhile, Amazon is also prepping 'Masters of the Universe', starring Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and directed by Travis Knight, set for a June 2026 release.
