Kim Kardashian Says She Prefers “Less Botox” For Acting
Kim Kardashian is ready to advance her career but has some reservations about what it might involve.
In the latest episode of ‘The Kardashians,’ Kim shared with her friends that she successfully pitched a comedy movie, ‘The Fifth Wheel,’ to Netflix after collaborating with writers Paula Pell and Janine Brito. At 43, Kim is set to take on a leading role and a producer title for the film.
“This career shift was unexpected and took me by surprise. I owe a lot to my agent, Brad Slater,” Kim explained in a confessional. “You want a Brad Slater in your corner; he really believes in me.”

Kim admitted she was nervous about pitching a movie idea to studios for the first time. “If it happens and works out, I’ll feel really accomplished and fulfilled, but who knows?” she said about the film, which she described as a mix of ‘The Hangover,’ ‘Bridesmaids,’ and ‘First Wives Club.’ “This is new to me, and I’m a bit inexperienced.”
Once the offers started coming in—”Everyone called within 20 minutes with offers; it was really cool,” she recalled—the initial nerves eased but the pressure began to build.
“The offers they’re bringing my way, I’m like, ‘You think I can do that? I can’t do that,'” she told her friends. In a confessional, she added, “How do they know I can do it? Now the pressure’s on because I’m like, ‘Oh s—, this is happening,’ and I have to really deliver.”
As she adjusted to the demands of producing and starring in a film, Kim joked about having to sacrifice something, quickly choosing “sleep” as the first thing to go. However, she emphasized that her looks wouldn’t be compromised.
“I can do a movie a year; I’ve got about 10 years where I still look good. That’s my 10-year plan,” she said. She also mentioned, “I feel like you need less Botox for more emotion, and I don’t have it. I’m not gonna gain 500 lbs. for a role… that’s not where I need to be. How am I gonna cry? How am I gonna be scared out of my mind?”
Despite her concerns, Kim is determined to make her mark in acting. “I wasn’t planning on this career shift, and I’m really nervous because I have to deliver. It’s a huge challenge, but I welcome it. Every year, I want to do something that makes me uncomfortable and challenges me.”
Kim gained attention in 2023 with a recurring role in ‘American Horror Story: Delicate,’ playing Siobhan, an entertainment publicist. This marked her first significant screen acting role in over a decade, apart from cameos and voice roles. She previously appeared in minor roles in ‘Disaster Movie,’ ‘Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor,’ ‘CSI: NY,’ and ‘Drop Dead Diva,’ and made guest appearances as herself in various TV shows. She hosted ‘Saturday Night Live’ in October 2021.
At the 2023 Met Gala, Kim revealed she took acting lessons for her ‘American Horror Story’ role. “It’s fun to step outside your comfort zone and try something new and grow,” she said. “I’m so excited for the experience.”
