Kingsley Ben-Adir Shares Encounter With ‘Lovely’ Meghan Markle And ‘Funny’ Prince Harry
In a heartwarming recollection, Kingsley Ben-Adir reminisces about a remarkable encounter with royalty during the premiere of ‘Bob Marley: One Love.’
In the weeks preceding the revelation of his father’s illness, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle embarked on a journey to the Caribbean to attend the world premiere of the movie in Kingston, Jamaica.
As esteemed guests of their friends Brian Robbins, the president and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon and his wife Tracy James, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex graced the event with their presence. Following the premiere, they had the pleasure of mingling with the film’s star, Kingsley Ben-Adir.
Reflecting on the encounter, Ben-Adir fondly recalls the warmth and affability of the royal couple. “Nice people. Harry’s funny, and Meghan was lovely. They were lovely, man,” he shares with a magazine. The actor expresses gratitude for the opportunity to connect with them, engaging in conversations about music, Bob Marley, the film, and life itself.
Meghan and Prince Harry’s admiration for Marley’s music and his advocacy for peace and unity are well-documented. ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ narrates the life journey of the Jamaican icon, whose melodies resonated with millions worldwide.
To embody Marley’s essence on screen, Ben-Adir devoted himself to intensive preparation, mastering the guitar, honing his singing skills and immersing himself in Marley’s accent and Jamaican Patois.
