'KPop Demon Hunters' made a spectacular start to the year's awards season at the 31st Annual Critics Choice Awards, which took place on 4th January, 2026, in the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The Critics Choice Association honoured the film with two prestigious awards: Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for 'Golden.' Given the fierce competition, the Best Animated Feature victory was especially noteworthy, since 'KPop Demon Hunters' defeated animated films from well-known studios like 'Zootopia 2' and 'Elio.'

In the meantime, 'Golden,' which was co-written with Mark Sonnenblick and sung in the movie by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami as part of Huntr/X, won the Best Song prize, commemorating its transition from movie soundtrack to number-one hit. On stage, EJAE reflected on the emotional inspiration behind the song, explaining that writing 'Golden' felt like living through her character Rumi's journey, and that the song's message of hope resonated deeply with audiences worldwide.

Together with the voice actors, directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans accepted the Best Animated Feature award and thanked the cast, creative team, and international fans for their support.
