Lady Gaga Reveals Harley Quinn’s Transformation in ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’

The upcoming DC sequel, ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’, will introduce a significant alteration to Lady Gaga’s portrayal of Harley Quinn. With only one DC film set for release this year, ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ is generating anticipation, scheduled to hit theatres in just five months.

Set in the aftermath of the 2019 film, this instalment delves into Arthur Fleck encountering Lady Gaga’s incarnation of Harley Quinn.

Lady Gaga recently shared insights in an interview with E! News about her role as Harley Quinn, known as Lee in this adaptation. While she couldn’t disclose spoilers, Lady Gaga hinted at a fresh interpretation of the character, stating, “My version of Harley Quinn is Lee, and in many ways, I think this will be a very different Lee for people and I’m excited for people to see the story we want to tell.”

The decision to rename Harley Quinn as Lee raises questions about the creative direction. Unlike previous Batman or DC projects, ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ takes a unique approach, offering creative freedom with the character’s identity. It’s conceivable that Lady Gaga’s character initially adopts the name Lee before assuming the mantle of Harley Quinn.

While this change may spark debate among fans, ensuring the essence of Harley Quinn remains true to the DC canon is paramount. Further details about Lady Gaga’s character may be unveiled in upcoming trailers, shedding light on the reasoning behind the alteration.
