Margot Robbie made a stylish appearance at the Governors Awards on 9th January, opting for a modern black gown that marked a departure from her usual Barbie-inspired red carpet looks. The 33-year-old actress, nominated for the Critics Choice Awards, chose a sleek, form-fitting floor-length gown with cutouts, adorned with a silver design along its plunging neckline.
She accessorized with Fred Leighton's 1950s diamond and platinum waterfall earrings and Kwiat jewels.
Known for bringing iconic ‘Barbie’ looks to life with her stylist Andrew Mukamal since the movie's premiere, Robbie has continued this trend. Just days before the Governors Awards, she graced the Golden Globe Awards in a custom Giorgio Armani Privé hot pink gown, paying homage to the 1977 SuperStar Barbie doll.

At the 2024 Golden Globes afterparty, she changed into an elegant black version of the dress at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
Robbie's repertoire of replicated Barbie styles on the red carpet includes Earring Magic Barbie from 1992, the '60s Solo in the Spotlight Barbie, and the 1962 Brunette Bubble Cut Barbie, showcasing her versatility in bringing these iconic doll looks to life.
During the Los Angeles premiere of the film, Margot Robbie shared that the throwback Barbie-inspired dresses serve as a tribute to Barbie's dedicated fan base over the years.

"We're delving into Barbie references from past decades, specifically for the big Barbie enthusiasts and collectors out there," she explained. "Our aim is to ignite excitement among those fans by pairing Barbie references with top-notch designers."
Echoing these sentiments, Robbie's hairstylist, Bryce Scarlett, emphasized their commitment to ensuring Margot's contemporary glamour stands out. He mentioned that this press tour has been exceptionally creative and inspired, thanks to the iconic Barbie template providing a clear foundation for their designs.
Joining a host of other celebrities at the Governors Awards in Hollywood, Robbie celebrated the achievements of industry luminaries Mel Brooks, Angela Bassett, and editor Carol Littleton.
