As outlined in the official plot synopsis, Alaqua Cox takes on the role of Maya Lopez, who grapples with conflicting desires – torn between a criminal life as the formidable heir to Wilson Fisk (also known as Kingpin) and her connection to her Native American heritage. The initial episode will introduce viewers to Maya Lopez and the challenges she faces.
In Marvel Comics, ‘Echo’ is often depicted as Daredevil's sidekick, and the two characters share a strong bond. It's fitting that Daredevil would be part of her inaugural series.
The series is expected to delve into Lopez's origin story, with flashbacks depicting her early years. This will likely focus on her combat training, the development of her relationship with Kingpin and her journey towards accepting her deafness.
