Matt Damon is opening up about the intense physical transformation he went through for 'The Odyssey.'

The actor appeared on the recent episode of Jason and Travis Kelce's 'New Heights' podcast, where he shared details about preparing to play Odysseus in the upcoming Greek epic. Damon explained that he lost a significant amount of weight for the role and focused on getting lean while still staying strong, which was the look director Christopher Nolan wanted.

Matt Damon's Transformation

Damon said he changed his diet with the help of his doctor and completely cut out gluten. Before filming, his weight usually ranged between 185 and 200 pounds, but during production, he dropped down to 167 pounds. He noted that it was the lightest he has been since high school and that reaching that point required serious training and a very strict diet.

When asked about working with a trainer, Matt Damon shared that he already has someone he trusts and compared the process to preparing for a sports season. He explained that when he trains for demanding roles, the routine becomes part of his daily job, with workouts and meals carefully built into his schedule.

Damon also revealed that he still hasn't gone back to eating gluten. He said he has fully embraced a gluten-free lifestyle, even finding a gluten-free beer, and joked that it has been so long since he had gluten that he can't even tell the difference anymore.
