This announcement comes after a string of successful snake-themed singles, including ‘Cobra,’ ‘Boa,’ and ‘Hiss,’ the latter of which climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year. In a recent cover story for L’Officiel, Megan explained the significance of the snake motif, stating, “We don’t just stop at the snake. Renewal, rebirth: that is the whole concept of this.” She elaborated on her choice, emphasizing that snakes symbolize rebirth and spirituality, aligning with the darker, unique themes she enjoys.

Megan also hinted at exploring new sounds on ‘Megan,’ her first album since 2022’s ‘Traumazine,’ while assuring fans that her distinctive style remains intact. “It won’t feel like I went so left. It’ll feel true to me,” she said. “You’ll almost be like, ‘I wouldn’t have thought she would’ve rapped over that, but this sounds great.’”

In addition to her solo work, Megan has collaborated with other artists. Recently, she teamed up with GoRilla and Cardi B for a remix of their song ‘Wanna Be,’ which they debuted at Megan’s sold-out Madison Square Garden concert.

Leading up to the album release, Megan has kept her fanbase engaged with her #MeganMonday freestyles, including tracks like ‘I Think I Love Her’ and ‘Like a G6.’
