During her first trip to Japan, Megan Thee Stallion embraced her passion for anime.
The 27-year-old rap icon joyfully performed on stage at Summer Sonic 2022 in Osaka while donning a Sailor Moon-inspired attire. Megan wore a blue, red and white schoolgirl outfit identical to Usagi Tsukino’s in the well-known anime television series during her hit-filled performance.
It’s no secret that Megan enjoys anime immensely, particularly the show ‘My Hero Academia’. The Houston artist dressed in a blue costume and red-and-white wig for numerous photo shoots in 2019 to mimic the appearance of MHA character, Shoto Todoroki. Her ‘Todoroki Tina’ look, as she calls it, was previously showcased on the cover of Paper Magazine.
Megan also visited a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure display honouring the anime series’ 10th anniversary when she was in Japan. In Tokyo, the hip-hop icon is also scheduled to play at Summer Sonic.
